Dr. Sukehiro Hasegawa, Director of the ACUNS (Academic Council on the United Nations System) Tokyo Liaison Office and also President of the Global Peacebuilding Association of Japan (GPAJ), has been awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, in the 2025 Spring Honors. The honor comes a year after Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto, GPAJ Vice President, received the same decoration.
Board Member Ken Inoue noted that Ambassador Yamamoto’s remarkable diplomatic achievements and Dr. Hasegawa’s long-standing service to the United Nations as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and UNDP Resident Representative both reflect Japan’s continuing contributions to global peace and governance.
