Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão of Timor-Leste received former Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Sukehiro HASEGAWA at the Prime Minister`s office on 28 August 2024, as he was visiting Timor-Leste to participate in the 25th-anniversary events of “Popular Consultations” which led to the independence of Timor-Leste and its entry into the United Nations in 2002. Following a courtesy call on President José Ramos-Horta, Former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Sukehiro HASEGAWA, accompanied by Japanese Ambassador Tetsuya KIMURA, met the media on August 27, 2024.
